FED: Wear a face mask in public now, expert says

Australians are being urged to wear face masks in crowded places to protect against swine flu.

Infectious diseases epidemiologist RAINA MACINTYRE .. of the University of New South
Wales .. says it's a highly effective way to keep flu away.

She recommends face masks for people on buses .. trains .. planes and in other confined
public spaces .. as well as anyone who cares for sick people.

Professor MACINTYRE says that until a human vaccine is matched to the strain of swine
flu that's killed nearly 150 people in Mexico .. we should use whatever protection's available.
