NSW: Sydney to host Australia s first live Internet auction

Home buyers can now sit through a live property auction and make a bid -- without leaving
their computer terminals.

In what is believed to be a world-first, national real estate chain Raine & Horne will
tomorrow auction 17 properties live over the Internet, taking phone bids from buyers
monitoring the proceedings from Australia and overseas.

The company expects to raise about $8 million in the first auction through the sale of a
wide range of properties.

Raine & Horne spokesman ANTHONY SHARWOOD says the weekly auctions will change the face of
auctions in Australia, as overseas and interstate buyers are now able to bid for Olympic city
properties live.
