Qld: Police raids find explosives and firearms

Police say raids on 10 properties in remote north-west Queensland have allegedly uncoveredexplosives and unlicensed firearms.

They say seven people have been charged with a total of 18 offences after searchesof residences at Doomadgee and Burketown in the Gulf of Carpentaria early this morning.

Police say the charges include possession of unlicensed and concealable firearms, possessionof explosives and possession of a dangerous drug.

Two people from Doomadgee and four from Burketown are due to appear in court later this month.

One person will take part in a diversion program.
