NT:Darwin schools to reopen today
Darwin's schools are expected to reopen today .. as the city moves into recovery and
clean-up mode in the wake of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Carlos.
Ports and airports have already reopened .. but it's unclear whether recovery payments
will me made to those who've been impacted by the storm.
Northern Territory Chief Minister PAUL HENDERSON says he's still waiting to assess
the full scale of the damage caused by the category 1 system.
More than 600 millimetres of rain fell across the Top End in two-and-a-half days ..
as winds of up to 100 kilometres an hour on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning bought
down powerlines and trees.
